Our StoryCaspian is helping build an exciting new world. From New Zealand to the Caribbean, from Indonesia to the Middle East, our equipment is being used in major developments which are changing the face of cities and nations.
International business has always been our story, one in which we travelled before we came to settle at home, in the process building a company which is an acknowledged leader in access equipment.
It began around 30 years ago when Grimsby shipbroker, Bob Tyler, decided to branch out into providing scaffolding and access equipment for the fast developing Middle East market. Customers included major companies in Iran and it was because of Bob’s involvement with that and neighbouring countries that he decided to call his business Caspian, after the sea they faced onto.
It was a venture which soon proved successful.
And with success came expansion. Caspian became involved with projects in a growing number of countries, mainly connected with the oil industry and, in more recent times, in leisure developments.
With the break-up of the Soviet empire demand for our expertise came from emerging countries like Kurdistan and Kazakhstan, where we now have established business links.
And in the UK, too, we’re steadily expanding.
Our first depot was opened in Scunthorpe in 1984 and the following years have seen steady development with sites in Hull, Grimsby, and Scunthorpe, now serving key customers over a vast area of Eastern England.
